PBIS Events

Here at Fairview Elementary the focus of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is to provide all stakeholders with a clear system of all expected behaviors in our school building. Although the staff and students generally make assumptions of the expected behavior, it is important that we do not assume that everyone’s assumptions are the same. Through our school wide PBIS system we will work to ensure we are promoting and maintaining a safe and conducive school environment where ALL stakeholders have a clear vision of our expectations and completely understand their role in this process.

PBIS Mission/Purpose

To create and maintain an effective learning environment by establishing behavioral support and the social culture needed for all students in our school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.

  1. Behavior Expectations are defined. Behavioral expectations are clearly defined and promote positive and simple expectations.
    1. VISIONARY LEADER
    2. INTEGRITY
    3. EXCELLENT EXAMPLE
    4. WISE CHOICES
  2. Behavior Expectations are taught. Behavioral expectations are taught to all stakeholders. These expectations are taught with fidelity and in real conditions. When teaching expectations, it is vital to use real conditions rather than simply telling students what to do or what behavior is expected of them. Specific behavioral examples here at Fairview are:
    1. Visionary Leader means ensuring the vision becomes a reality by using clear goals.
    2. Integrity means being honest and having strong principles.
    3. Excellent Example means possessing outstanding quality or superior merit.
    4. Wise Choices means showing the ability to make good judgements, based on a deep understanding and experiences.                                     Fairview Elementary School PBIS Powerpoint 2022.pptx
